What is the Cambridge IGCSE Programme?

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education or IGCSE is a two-year programme for students between ages 14 to 16. The flexible and stimulating curriculum improves student performance through creative thinking, enquiry and problem-solving skills. This is what makes the curriculum a perfect springboard for advanced studies in international curricula.

Cambridge IGCSE program allows students to take a variety of routes to motivate learners to have strong basis for higher learning. Learner needs are considered, to add breadth and cross-curricular perspectives. This fosters high academic standards together with the potential to put knowledge into practice.

Cambridge offers over 70 subjects, including 30 languages, giving schools the flexibility to offer any combination that best suits their students. This helps learners develop intellectual inquiry, apply their knowledge to required situations, be culturally aware and influence outcomes for future.

Students graduating Cambridge are well-prepared to take on higher learning in multicultural and international environment.

Why choose Cambridge IGCSE in GIIS?

GIIS introduces Cambridge education from Grade 6 which continues until Grade 10. The school has a curriculum in place, researched under the Cambridge guidelines and customised with students’ needs in mind.

Data Analytics at GIIS

GIIS chain of schools in Singapore has a unique methodology to check the academic and non-academic progress of our students. We have devised methods and installed platforms which give us raw data on students’ performances inside and outside the classroom.

Data Analytics in academics at GIIS is called the 7S method, in which teachers and coordinators gather stats on a student’s marks in seven different areas of development. This includes school, segment, section, subject, subject-teacher, student and summary.

Data Analytics in Sports is called SPEDAS, where devices on playgrounds and on the student’s person, capture on-field movement which is converted to data.

Both data are then studied by the teacher to determine progress of the student in all areas of development, and an assessment is done which helps students understand their strengths and weaknesses
